This tribute was paid in Berlin to after the performance of Mahler´s Ninth Symphony, when Sir John Barbirolli conducted the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in January 1963.
After Sir John´s outstanding success in this work, the members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra unanimously asked that he should record it with them. This was achieved a year later. During icy weather in January 1964 the recording was made in the Jesus-Christuskirche, a modern church with unique acoustic qualities in the fashionable Berlin suburb of Dahlem.

The records show a few light superficial surface wipe traces. I listened to these regions with the wipe traces and there were no tics audible. No scratches!
The records show a glossy surface.
The records are cleaned with a special vacuum record cleaning machine and assembled with new inner sleeves.
