Rare 10-inch shellac record: EMILE COUE - EMILE COUE'S OWN METHOD OF SELF-MASTERY - "The only authentic recording of M. Coue's voice"; Columbia Grafonola, A-3840, made in USA; I've been informed that It's one of a set of 4 records, recorded in New York in 1923, and released later that year. Extremely rare - I can't find any others (complete or otherwise) available online to compare it to, nor any mentioned in completed-auction listings.
From Wikipedia: Émile Coué de la Châtaigneraie (1857-1926) was a French psychologist and pharmacist who introduced a popular method of psychotherapy and self-improvement based on optimistic autosuggestion. Considered by Charles Baudouin to represent a second Nancy School, Coué treated many patients in groups and free of charge.
Condition is EX (very glossy, a few very light scuffs; clean labels with minimal spindle hole rubbing).

A NOTE ON SHIPPING SHELLAC RECORDS: I use the floating method, with the record sandwiched between strong pieces of cardboard with corrugate in opposite directions, then placed inside a larger sturdy box with packing material all around inside to prevent any movement (either peanuts, large-bubble wrap, or crumpled paper). Sometimes if I have old 10" LP jackets I don't need, I will put your record in it before sandwiching; otherwise will be in a paper sleeve. I will also always insure these with the USPS. Due to the extra time, materials, insurance, and overall high level of stress associated with shipping these safely (YOU know!), I am asking $6.00 for Media Mail shipping ($4 is actual shipping cost). I think it is reasonable, and I get the feeling that most collectors who buy these online are happy to pay a little extra for the added assurance.
