Description

Ben Berlin and his Orchestra play "Song of Songs" (no vocal) and "Seduction" (a waltz with French vocal) on Polydor 22856.  "Song of Songs" is a great, well-recorded performance with solos by visiting Lud Gluskin stars Spencer Clark (bass sax), Gene Prendergast (clarinet), Emile Christian (tb), and piano.  Clark and Christian are especially good.  It's almost like listening to Gluskin, but in better sound.  Recorded in Berlin in October 1929.   
This record is in VV- condition generally. There is a 1-3/4 inch crack (glued at the rim) from the rim into the grooves that ticks lightly from time to time during the first chorus, and ticks heavily a couple of times before disappearing altogether.  It has no effect on the solos.  The record plays plays through without incident on my setup here and the music is very enjoyable.
