Description
This is a true first pressing of this landmark classic of free improvisation entitled "Topography of the Lungs" by Evan Parker, Derek Bailey, and Han Bennink. It has a dark blue label which according to Evan Parker himself was the very first pressing - the 2nd issue was the turquoise label and (again according to Evan himself) was inferior in terms of pressing quality. The third issue of this LP had a white label and came out in the late 70s or early 80s.
This copy does not have the Evan Parker 'notes' insert but does have an Incus Records insert that talks about the label and its ethos.
The flimsy cover is VG- with some moisture stains and slight waviness in parts. There are also a few small tears and creases on the cover. Overall not horrible and none of the faults are really bad.
The vinyl, however, is pretty nice...it looks and plays EX with just the occasional soft pop or little click audible.
The first issue of this LP has rarely shown up on ebay...usually it's either the 2nd or 3rd issue that has been auctioned here! Good luck on this first pressing!
