I recently had the good fortune to buy a big collection of both 60's AND 80's Beat, Garage, Punk & Psychedelic...and Power-Pop...LPs, EPs and 7"s from a trusted collector who bought them all at the time...and who'd kept them so well...anything he bought new was still MINT or M- (true, there were also a few old original 60's items in whatever condition he found them in)...but the bottom line is, he had amazingly good taste, and the gems he had were carefully handpicked for excellence.
Anyway, this is one of that collection.

::CONDITION (cover/record): ( EX- / M- ) ...cover has minor damage along the top, only from where it's peeked above its protective PVC cover fore the past 21 years, rest of cover is mint still...plays beautifully...
::LABEL CONDITION:
'A' side: MINT
'B' side: MINT ...there are NO spindle marks on the labels at all...looks unplayed!...
...Brilliant EP given away at one gig only (there were 500 only), at the combined record launch for all 4 bands, held at the Lansdowne Hotel, on City Rd., Broadway...All 4 had new records released that day, but this contains 4 other tracks that are unique to this EP, and which, to this day, have never been released on CD or any other format.
The OMPieces track is stunning melodic guitar-pop!!...the Shr.Violets track is superb ringing, jangly, Rickenbacker-fueled power-pop, kinda like the Church mixed with early U2 (really!)...and the beautiful EAWS track was specially recorded for this EP just a month before...
TRIVIAL INFO wot you would never otherwise know: No big deal, but I owned the label back then, and Chevrolet DeSoto was the nickname my girlfriend used when we had card-playing nights, that's her in the tree on the cover, pic taken by my Manc/Moss-side/champ football-playing flatmate, Dazza Morris, in Centennial Park, one overcast and chilly winter's day...this was the sorta 'fun' you could get up to when you owned a record label that didn't have to answer to anyone d:-)
It's one of the few covers I designed myself, and not being very arty, was chuffed that it looked kinda OK...(you may of course think otherwise).
