Year: 1967? Label: Columbia 4-44821
Condition: Vinyl: M- Near perfect! Unplayed, no visible scuffs! There is a 0.5mm chip on the record's edge which will not affect play, guaranteed. Label: Like New!

Here's an alltime FUNK/Soul classic - the Eddy Jacobs Exchange on Columbia. If you're reading this, you probably know the tune, but for those who don't, this is a ferocious slice of James Brown style 60's FUNK. According to my research, this was a regional bar band that played in places like Atlantic City and included Joe Dupars, a longtime JBs trumpeter and other sidemen who had toured with Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett's Midnight Movers. This is the DJ promo issue of the record and was intended for radio stations. Few collectors know that all copies of this DJ issue were printed with the labels reversed! In other words, the side marked A plays the B-Side and the side marked B plays the A-Side. Maybe this is why the record sank way back when, it sure wasn't the quality of the tunes!
I'm putting up 2 other Northern promo records this week. All of these records come from a collection of discs sent to a Portuguese record company in the 60's and 70's for review, to choose which records would be released locally-- this single is the DJ promo issue. This is a guaranteed 100% American original record (MADE IN USA), and is totally unplayed, these records were stored in a warehouse in Portugal until just recently and were never touched. The record comes in the original plain white sleeve. You might never see this record in such pristine condition again, so don't miss your chance, bid on it right away!
