This beautiful LP from His Master’s Voice / RCA Victor (LHMV-1004, US pressing, silver circle shaded dog label, mono) features Edwin Fischer in a masterly recording of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25 in C Major K. 503, made with Josef Krips and the Philharmonia Orchestra at EMI Studio No. 1, Abbey Road, London, on 10 October 1947.
Filling out the disc is Fischer’s equally memorable account of Bach’s Concerto for Three Pianos in C Major BWV 1064, in which he is joined by fellow pianists Ronald Smith and Denis Matthews. Made in the same venue as the Mozart in sessions held on 16 May 1950, Fischer conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra from the keyboard.
Remarkable performances all, true gramophone classics, and sounding splendid here.
There are superb liner notes on the reverse side of the jacket by Denis Matthews, printed in English only. The striking cover design is uncredited.
CONDITION – PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is near-MINT. There is very slight wear at corners, but that is all. There are no seamsplits, bends, owners’ markings, or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, and very striking in appearance – a truly fine collector’s copy.
The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT. Although the surfaces are not absolutely silent, this is a fine copy and the playback is quite superb. Those requiring flawless or NM surfaces are kindly advised to look elsewhere. Overall, this rates as an excellent collector's copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
