Second album from Egg and very fine it is too. I just looked up a review (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Polite_Force) and was baffled by a comparison to ELP. Absolute nonsense they are far closer to Caravan and early Soft Machine with their line in quirky lyrics “We spent our time avoiding skinheads and the law”. There's even a mention of Uriel, their previous band with Steve Hillage on guitar.

The sleeve is in excellent* condition. There are minor creases to the laminated front and the back has yellowed a little over the intervening 42 years. The text on the spine is still clear.

The record has the correct blue and white inner sleeve which is somewhat dog eared around the opening. The adhesive used has discoloured the paper here and there.

The record itself is in very good* condition. Would have been excellent but for 3 distinct clicks around 1m:10s into the first track. Other than that it's a gleaming copy with that proper vinyl sound.

You should check this out on the attached eCommerce Player. (In fact my request/demand is that you listen before placing any bid.)

(This album recorded on my Linn Sondek turntable using “Audacity”, exported as a 320 kbps MP3 file and uploaded into eCommerce Player. No editing whatsoever just a pause as I turned the disc over.)

Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
