Description
- Near mint 1956 Verve deep groove orange label monaural original LP “Ella And Louis” (Verve MGV 4003, Long Playing Microgroove Verve Records Inc. on label) merging the talents of two jazz giants, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
- Adding to the legendary status of this recording are jazz greats Oscar Peterson (piano), Herb Ellis (guitar), Ray Brown (bass) and Buddy Rich (drums).
- The tracklist is: Can’t We Be Friends/Isn’t This A Lovely Day/Moonlight In Vermont/They Can’t Take That Away From Me/Under A Blanket Of Blue/Tenderly/A Foggy Day In London Town/Stars Fell On Alabama/Cheek To Cheek/The Nearness Of You/April In Paris.
- The glossy LP looks and plays near mint with crisp, clear fidelity. The cover is even closer to mint with no splits, tears or cutouts. The original price is written in pencil on one back corner as was common in the 1950s. There are a couple of spindle marks on the labels otherwise I am unable to see anything worth mentioning.
