Description
Sometimes we list things here as a favor to a friend, and this one's a real doozy. A bootleg version of Elton John's first album that showed up in limited quantities in the late 60s or early 70s (we mistakenly referred to it as a "test pressing" based on what our friend had said). Not until 1975 did the official album "Empty Sky" get released with nine songs on it. The person we got this from lived in the Boston area at the time, and had some music connections. The bootleg came his way in a plain white cover, with an orange label on the vinyl itself that listed the songs on each side. You can clear see the titles in our pic. The vinyl is in remarkably good condition after all these years; I suspect the album was only played a few times. This music is obviously available elsewhere, but if the idea of owning a "PRE official release" version of an album is your jam, then put your bid in on this Sir Elton artifact right now!
