Description
Classic LPs is pleased to offer for sale a rare Elvis promotional record (see pics). This is one of several rare Elvis records we are currently auctioning (please see the Elvis section in our shop for details of the other items.
It takes the form of a 10" metallic disc containing within it a 45rpm (7") vinyl single with run-in/run-out grooves.
The white label has RCA printed in red lettering and 'Reference Recording' in black lettering, and handwritten details (presumably supplied by the studio engineer). These details include the 'no.' - apparently 9-28; the song title and artist; a reference/cataloguing no: apparently 62403-7-A; and an apparent timing: 2:06.
It is hand-marked as 'approved' for 'recording dep't use', and signed off (possibly by 'Bob').
The metal disc is in generally excellent condition, with some light markings, and the vinyl is EX to EX+ and plays pefectly (as near-mint).
It comes in what appears to be its original 10" heavy-paper die-cut brown company sleeve. To the best of our knoweldge we understand this item dates from the early-mid 1960s.
