Elvis Presley ~ ELVIS PRESLEY RCA LPM-1254 RCA Victor Mono 1956 historic debut LP with P.D. credit Strong VG/VG+ (sonically and visually). 3S/1S Indianapolis Pressing. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Media Mail.
If this original record is absent from your Elvis collection, then it is incomplete. Released in March of 1956, this self-titled debut expediently soared to number 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 and spawned a plethora of singles and extended play 45's. Originally on the very 1st pressing, the writers of "Just Because" were unknown and credited to P.D. for Public Domain as shown in this pressing (3S/1S Indianapolis). Of course, when the record soared to number 1 on Billboard, the writers expediently made their claim and were appropriately credited on subsequent pressings. In this example the labels look decent (tape residue on side 1), but the playback quality is phenomenal even in the quieter moments like "Blue Moon" to grade easily at VG+, displaying a handful of light scuffs and scratches. From front to back this one played very impressively without error, just an occasional crackle here and there. Meanwhile, with the pale pink letters, the jacket possesses the most solid seams and spine that I have ever witnessed on this particular album, but, unfortunately, there is a name in marker on the front and back, some slight ringwear, and some staining on the back, so it grades at VG to a strong VG.
