Elvis Presley - Loving You
(RCA RC 24001 UK 10" LP 1957)
This is the very 1st UK 10" LP pressing of this album from 1957. It has a fully laminated flipback sleeve. The flipbacks are at the top & bottom of the rear sleeve. They also have a die-cut rounded area at the centre. There is a "JU. 57111" date printed on the bottom flipback. This indicates that this sleeve was printed by "James Upton" in November 1957. Only the very first pressings come with a sleeve with a 1957 printing date.
It comes with its original polythene lined company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has black & silver "RCA" labels. These labels are not grooved. Again, only the very first pressings have RCA labels which are not grooved. The record has 1st press H2WL 2762-1B and H"WL 2763-1B matrix numbers. Again, only the very first pressings had -1B/ -1B matrix numbers.
This is a genuine UK 1957 1st pressing from 1957. These are quite rare. This is a very serviceable copy too.
Sleeve: There is a 2 cm seam split, and area of more moderate rubbing wear, at the top edge - from the sleeve opening.
There is a thumb-tip sized piece of laminate that has peeled away at the centre of the front sleeve opening. This doesn't notice too much. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear at the sleeve opening on some areas. There is a very small piece of laminate wear/ peeling at the centre rear sleeve opening area. There is a very small area of light or very mild staining at that area too. There is a light crease on the bottom flipback. There is some mild to more moderate rubbing wear to the bottom two corner tips. VG- condition
Vinyl: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are 4 small & very light hairline marks. They measure from 1 cm to 2 cm in length & hardly notice overall. VG+ condition. The labels are in Excellent+ condition & show minimal spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in VG+ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear & creasing. There is some mild to more moderate fading. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this 10" LP. It plays Near Excellent overall & Excellent in some places. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in a few quieter places. There are no clicks or pops. Overall, a very near excellent audio copy!
