This auction is for a rare and original Sun Record Company Elvis Presley 78 rpm 10 inch record.
This is No. 217 with Baby Let’s Play House and I’m Left, Your Right, She’s Gone. In my opinion this is one of the harder Elvis records to find on the Sun label.
Hand etched into the dead wax on one side are the matrix numbers “U-142” and “72”. The other side reads “U-143-2” and “72.”
Please look at photos closely to determine condition of the labels, which show some age but are generally very nice – I believe. The record itself retains some of its original gloss but also shows plenty of wear from over the years. No scratches that I can feel but plenty of scuffs and light marks. Photo#6 shows a "line" across record. It is a light mark, not a scratch. There are no chips along the outside edge.
The record plays nicely with some surface noise. When I placed this on the turntable I was instantly whisked back to March of 1955 when this record was recorded. It’s been a long time since I listened to a 78 rpm, let alone an original Elvis on Sun! It was awesome.
