Description
For sale: White label promo copy of Eric Clapton's first solo LP from 1970.
The album is clean, with no spindle marks on the labels and only very slight sleeve marks on
the vinyl which does not affect play. The paper sleeve is plain (no printing) and shows a bit of
yellowing (it is 47 years old) and has two very small splits. The album cover is very good, with
almost no ring wear. The photos show the minor wrinkling on the rear cover and the one seam
split (3") on the left of the bottom seam. I'm going to call the cover VG and the album VG+ as
I tend to grade rather conservatively.
The oddity with this item is that the labels show the matrix number for the Columbia, Terre Haute
pressing plant (ending in -CTH), but the matrix number on the dead wax (runout) does not. There
are additional initials in the dead wax (did not photograph well) and they are typically listed after
the long matrix number as below:
Side A: ST-C-701879-B LW AT W(or M) GB
Side B: ST-C-701880-B LW AT W(or M) GB
Record will be shipped in standard cardboard album box with protective inserts. Record will be removed
from album cover and shipped in paper sleeve with record and cover in thick plastic sleeve.
