This quartet session from 1965, has long been considered one of Wayne’s finest studio albums, even though it remained unreleased until 1980. Etcetera features all Shorter compositions, with the exception of Gil Evan’s passionate Barracudas. Wayne's Indian Song takes its place as one of Shorter’s most intensely hypnotizing compositions. Etcetera is one of the true highlights of the Shorter discography.
Blue Note Tone Poet Series
The Blue Note Tone Poet Series was born out of Blue Note President Don Was’ admiration for the exceptional audiophile Blue Note LP reissues presented by Music Matters. Was brought Joe Harley (from Music Matters), a.k.a. the “Tone Poet,” on board to curate and supervise a series of reissues from the Blue Note family of labels.
Extreme attention to detail has been paid to getting these right in every conceivable way, from the jacket graphics and printing quality to superior LP mastering (direct from the master tapes) by Kevin Gray to superb 180 gm audiophile LP pressings by Record Technology Inc. Every aspect of these Blue Note/Tone Poet releases is done to the highest possible standard. It means that you will never find a superior version. This is IT.
Blue Note Records’ Tone Poet Audiophile Vinyl Reissue Series is produced by Joe Harley and features all-analog, mastered-from-the-original-master-tape 180g audiophile vinyl reissues in deluxe gatefold packaging. Mastering is by Kevin Gray (Cohearent Audio) and vinyl is manufactured at Record Technology Incorporated (RTI).

Like many record collectors I have some records in my collection that I purchased with every intention of listening too and enjoying but I just haven’t found time or in some cases my musical tastes have changed or have duplicate copies. I now have a number of records that I have never opened and that I will probably never get around to playing therefore I have, reluctantly, decided to cut some of these loose so that other enthusiasts can own and enjoy them.

I have listed this record as ‘Used Condition’, despite the condition being ‘Mint/Unopened/Sealed in Shrink’ because it preowned by me and may have been part of my personal collection for some time.
