FAIRFIELD PARLOUR - FROM HOME TO HOME
1970 UK large Vertigo Swirl earliest pressing with super audio quality
Year/Label : 1970 UK VERTIGO large swirlLabel number : STEREO 6360 001
Matrix numbers : 6360001 1Y//1, 6360001 2Y//1
Stampers : 11 1 / 11 4
Glossy, nice black sheen completely flat and excellent (EX) condition vinyl - difficult to identifyy any blemishes in normal daylight and it is only with close inspection under a bright light that just a couple of very, very light scuff marks come into view...purely superficial and obviously not impacting upon the terrific sound quality. Each label is excellent with the only blemishes being a few small and very faint spindle lines adjacent to the centre hole on each label, and the iconic large Vertigo Swirl logo ad black text in perfect order. Very good (VG) condition non-laminated textured original UK outer gatefold sleeve. Each edge remains firm but there is clearly noticeable intermittent mild scuffing on each, along with sporadic light scuff marks on the firm spine though the spine text is largely intact and legible. Each corner is firm and a nicely defined right angle with a little mild rubbing on each. The interior of the gatefold is excellent and barely marked, with no unwanted writing and the lyric and credits texts remain perfectly intact. The obvious blemish is on the front side where there are two areas of scuffing towards the top edge which have been coloured in - see photos. Excellent (EX) STEREO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, obvious clicks, interference or distortion and background crackle is virtually non-existent. I was just able to detect only two very light background sporadic clicks upon playback and any background crackle is negligible with even the intermissions being virtually completely silent. Every track is a great listen with wonderful tone and crystal clear vocals and instrumentation. Comes with original and excellent condition poly-lined Vertigo Swirl inner sleeve - correctly dated with no seam splits or tears, some minor age discolouration, and just a little creasing in the corners.
What a great album this is! Folk, rock, psych...it's all here, and no wonder UK 1st pressings remain so highly collectable.
POSTAGE COSTS :
For the UK £5 using Royal Mail tracked 48;
for continental Europe £13 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,
and for the rest of the world £19 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.
I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.
Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
