GRADINGS
Using 'The Rare Record Collector' guidelines

Sleeve

The laminated plastic front sleeve has ensured that the brooding photo has retained its original quality.    As a result of the laminated sleeve the structure and spine of this album is still very strong.  On the back (Excellent +) the album and bandlistings and photo of Fairport still looks terrific.    This album comes with original inner sleeve.

Near Mint

Labels

As you can see from the photos, aside from some hardly noticeable and faint spindle marks around the hole, both sides of this red Polydor label look great.

B side

Vinyl appearance

There are occasional surface marks on both sides of this record.   However there is some mild groovewear.  There are no significant marks, scratches or abrasions on either side of the vinyl.

Audio quality

When grading the audio quality of an LP, we listen to a sample of every track.
Sam and I are committed to giving as much detailed information in our listings.  However, due to the amount of records that we list each week, we can't possibly listen to every LP in full (especially with the Double LPs!  As our feedback suggests, we have a reputation for honesty & are trusted by collectors around the world, and if on the rare occasion our grading doesn't represent the condition, we operate a full refund policy (see details below)

Throughout all twelve songs the audio delivered by Fairport Convention still sounds fabulous, although there is some distortion.

COLLECTABLE VINYL RECORDS
The Barraclough brothers

Dear collector, we are the Barraclough brothers of ‘Collectable Vinyl Records’. Sam and I have established a reputation as a trusted supplier of rare vinyl, based upon honest and thorough descriptions of our items (take a look at some of our feedback [lower down the page]).
Together we have undertaken the task of selling our father’s extensive record collection, which he has amassed during his time as a dj and music critic.  It’s a considerable and unique vinyl collection of albums and singles with many rare items included.  In addition to the known rare records there are many demo and promotional items, which were not available for general purchase making them highly collectable.  The chronology of the collection stretches from the early 1960s, to the early 1980s.   Within this period, there is a concentration of records released between 1965 – 1969 – a seminal era for music that is reflected by it’s collectability.  Although the spectrum of musical genre is wide, a considerable proportion of the collection is Motown, Northern Soul, Soul, Reggae, Ska, Punk, New Wave, Mod, Psych & Freakbeat records.  Fresh rare records usually start on a Thursday or Friday, ending 10 days later on Sunday or Monday evenings.    If you have any questions concerning this item or wish to enquire about this record collection, please contact us by eBay or email : collectablevinylrecords@gmail.com   we aim to reply within 24 hours where possible.

GRADING POLICY

We use the ‘Rare Records Price Guides’ grading scale (if you are unaware of this grading system please don’t hesitate to contact me and I will reply as soon as possible with a explanation of how this grading system works).   As you can see in the description there is a grading given to vinyl and audio quality.  This is necessary because a record may seem ‘poor’ quality when viewed, but when played, the audio quality is often ‘excellent’.  Conversely the vinyl quality may seem excellent but when played the audio quality can be quite poor.

FULL REFUND POLICY

We will offer a full refund (including p & p) if you find that any of the gradings (outer sleeve, label, vinyl or audio quality) given in the listing do no match the record’s description (according to the rare record collector grading system).  A full refund (including p & p) policy prohibits scammers, but more importantly ensures our true collectors complete piece of mind. As you see by our feedback, we have attained a strong reputation based on the accuracy of our descriptions, communication with clients and a quick and professional postage service.   So, in the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied, please notify us within 48 hours of receipt that you are returning the record and we will deposit your refund via Paypal.

PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED & PACKAGED

? All records are professionally cleaned with a Smart Matrix cleaning machine before dispatch ?

? All records are securely & professionally packaged within protective plastic sleeves (with vinyl outside the Sleeve), two corrugated card stiffeners & record mailers ?

CUSTOMS PRACTICE
 For non – E.U collectors

We have become aware that many of our non EU customers have difficulties receiving records without (particularly with the more valuable records) paying huge customs charges. As always Joe and I will strive to make things easier (and cheaper) for our collectors. To achieve this we will always send the record(s) as a “gift” and state the value to be under £5 (+ not including inserting any evidence of actual value), ensuring that you receive the records without paying unnecessary custom charges or problems in your country.

SHIPPING & HANDLING POLICY

IMPORTANT SHIPPING LIABILITY : When you buy a record(s) that cost more than £41 it is is strongly advisable that you insure the item before dispatch. This can be done using the postal options – “Special Delivery”  (Domestic next day) and or airsure/ registered (for International), which  provide extra compensation (up to £500) and security – If this service is not requested, we can not and will not accept liability of over £41 compensation for items that may be lost or damaged by royal mail, so please bear this in mind when selecting your postage option.
However, in all circumstances I will obtain proof of postage which insures the package up to the value of £41. (see the Royal Mail website for details)  you will be given these postage options when you pay for your item(s).
For domestic delivery we offer a choice of royal mail 1st class, 1 st class, recorded signed for or special next day delivery.  For international customers airmail is our preferred shipment option.  However, any customer can request services such as surface mail.
