Description
FAMOUS JUG BAND Chameleon 1970 UK ORIGINAL BLUE LIBERTY STEREO VINYL FOLK LP. Condition is "Used".
I am always careful about listing something as first pressing, or first edition, because somebody is always looking for a micro dot to prove you wrong.
I HAVE FOLLOWED ALL THE RULES AS LAID OUT BY THE 'VINYL EXPERTS' ON GOOGLE AND BELIEVE THAT THIS ALBUM IS: FIRST PRESSING. VERY RARE. HIGHLY COLLECTABLE.
BARGAIN PRICE!
YOUR CHANCE TO GRAB A BARGAIN! ALL OF THE COPIES I COULD FIND WERE MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THIS ONE!
Take a look on ebay & Google as to how much this album has gone up in value at the auction houses from 2011 to 2019 - a terrific investment, as well as one of the most iconic folk albums of its time.
It belong to my Uncle who is sadly no longer here. It's hard to believe that he was a young man when he bought this album, and I wish I could ask him what drew him to the Famous Jug Band (because I must admit I knew very little of them until now.)
I've compared the sleeve to others that have been for sale in the past and discovered that many sellers overstate the condition of their albums. Some sellers would say the one I am selling is in excellent condition.
However, I am a realist. I am also honest.
THE COVER: is in very good condition for its age. It's showing ageing around the edges and has a small section on the front where I think a sticker has been removed and left a mark. SEE PHOTOGRAPHS. (Why shops find a need to always put stickers on vinyl? Very annoying.) The white mark is on the raised knee of the man playing the guitar on the left of the cover.
ALL THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE OF THE ITEM FOR SALE AND NOT FROM A CATALOGUE.
THE VINYL: is in very good condition. Plays superbly. No Jumps.
ONE SCRATCH: Side 2 last track: SEE PHOTOGRAPH: YOU CANNOT FEEL THE SCRATCH WITH YOU FINGER. IT IS NOT CUT INTO THE VINYL. The record plays fine over the scratch.
The Famous Jug Band’s second album,‘Chameleon’ was composed mainly by Pete Berryman. Their sound was simply 3voices, a guitar and a jug (with occasional percussion and electric guitar) andit actually works rather well. The title track is part of a medley that runsinto Michael Chapman’s ‘Rabbit hills’ and finishes the album superbly. ‘TheGolden years’ is a stand out track with a series of time changes that are morecomplex than the other tracks. Jill Johnson’s vocals are great and theharmonies are right on the money.

The cost of postage includes insurance. I thought this is best on a high value item.
Sorry, but if you're buying from outside the UK mainland, such as Isle of Man or Shetlands, there will be a £3 surcharge. It's not me. All the couriers charge this to those places.
I WILL SELL INTERNATIONALLY BUT THE BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ADDITIONAL IMPORT DUTIES THAT MIGHT BE CHARGED! The EU is being extremely over zealous at the moment - yet are begging for British tourists to go there.....weird. Deliveries to the USA can take up to 6 weeks.
THE COST OF INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE IS HIGH - BECAUSE IT'S A HIGH VALUE PRODUCT IT INCLUDES INSURANCE.
If you would like any further information, or additional photographs, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you. Stay Safe.
