Description

This is a 1970 U.S. CTI RECORDS U.S. STEREO LP titled 'Black Out' from tenor sax man Fats Theus and a stellar combo.  It is CTI Records U.S. catalog number CTI 1005  Recording and mastering by Rudy Van Gelder, 'RVG' is etched and 'VAN GELDER' is machine stamped into the runout area on both sides of the record.  Cover is still surrounded by its original factory shrinkwrap, which is torn away and missing over the left hand 30% of the back cover.  Record comes packaged inside the cover in its original stock CTI Records inner sleeve..

Condition of record is a low to mid VG+ with a moderate amount of surface marks and very light scuffs which cannot be felt and will not affect play.  Labels have a few light spindle marks, no other real flaws.  Condition of cover is VG+ with the original factory shrinkwrap as described above, and with a small drill hole near the upper right corner, indicating a promo or a cutout copy, and a little wear along the edges and on the corners.
This LP would be a choice addition to any funky jazz record collection!
