"Live" Direct To Disc Flamenco Fever LP (M&K RealTime Records RT-107)
This is a classic audiophile collectors item, very limited and rare. A prior test press without to cover recently was sold by the mastering/recording engineer Ken Kreisel.Based on the information from the engineer's remarks, this record was produced in 1977 and is said to be considered by most audiophiles worldwide to be one of the finest recordings ever made.
Recorded live with an audience at The Club El Matador in West Los Angeles, with a live providing the audience ambience of the night club performance it was.
The record is in MINT- condition.
Instrumentation includes : castanets, drums, foot-and-heel stomping, hand-clapping, solo guitar and vocals.
CATALOG NUMBER RT-107: MATRIX NUMBER RT-107 1-2 4-2 KK AND RT-107 2-1 4-2 KK .
Original Teldec Anti-Static Plastic/Paper innersleeve with small print in the corner saying N/407 19/1/3 .
Includes the M&K Real Time Records Sound Off mailer insert.
Made with TELDEC GERMAN PLATING AND PRESSING.

Better Records on Flashcom describes it thusly: One of the most amazing records ever. DEMO DISC SOUND! The sound is breathtakingly real. Years ago I dropped the needle on this record without paying attention to the volume level and when the dancers started pounding the floor, one of my woofers blew out! This record is about as dynamic as they come and has the kind of solid bass that few recordings that I'm aware of can lay claim to.
As an interesting side note, this album was recorded on location. The other M&K Direct to Disc record that I like was also recorded on location. Most of the M&K Direct to Discs were recorded in the showroom of the stereo store that Miller and Kreisel owned, which, like any showroom, was carpeted and draped...
This record...gives you both that Direct Disc immediacy and freedom from distortion, as well as the live ambience of the location -- the best of both worlds.
