Outrageously rare original 1966 UK POLYDOR 45 from the legendary British Guitar PSYCH/FREAKBEAT band the FLEUR-DE-LYS. This really is one of the UK's rarest and best UK FREAKBEAT 45's as it turns up about as often as Haley's Comet visits our solar system, so the next copy should turn up for sale in the year 2062, that's a bit of an exaggeration but this record really is seriously rare. The very few copies that have turned up in the past can be viewed by visiting www.popsike.com, just search 'Fleur De Lys' and you will get an idea of how rare and in demand this superb original uk freakbeat 45 really is.
With this listing I have provided a decent length MP3 sample of the excellent A-Side, the track 'Mud In Your Eye' is a brilliant raw pounding heavy freakbeat gem with some amazing blistering psych lead guitar around mid way through, the B-side is also musically excellent but is a far more laid back heavy sounding slow-paced psychy track, the sample i have provided of the A-Side has been taken from the actual 45 for sale so if you download it you can hear for yourself how excellently this monster-rare freakbeat 45 actually plays.
This great original copy grades as very good+ condition, the pounding freakbeat A-side actually plays excellent throughout and the B-side plays very near excellent with only small amounts of light background hiss/crackle and just one or two light tics near the start, there are no really loud pops or clicks and the sound quality is still excellent and clear. The vinyl surfaces have quite a few really minute very feint light hairlines and a very small amount of light scuffing but both sides still have a very nice sheen, i have to mention that there is a very small pressing flaw right at the outer edge of the run-in, this very small flaw does nothing to effect either track, just 2 or 3 very light dull background tics can be heard right at the start of each side, these are right in the background and are not at all loud and have no effect on the music itself and are over in just a few turns before the tracks actually start. The deep red lightly textured Polydor labels are very good, both have some minor age/marks and side-A also has a small biro 'X' but both labels are still in good condition with no real nasty looking blemishes, the obvious defect is that the original center is missing but this 45 plays just as well with a standard replacement, this will be included with the 45 when sent. The original polydor records company sleeve is in excellent condition with no marks or bad defects at all.
This monster rare UK FREAKBEAT/PSYCH 45 looks/plays and sounds great, it really is one of the rarest and best uk 45's from the era, so get it while you can as it will be definitely be a very long time before another copy comes along.
If you collect rare original Mod, Freakbeat and psych 45's and the stranger and more obscure UK beat and pop-sike releases from the mid to late 1960's then this original 1966 'Fleur-De-Lys' Polydor 45 is one of the rarest and best and would definitely make a brilliant addition to any collection.
I pack my records very well indeed and will only send this rare 45 by signed for recorded post.
