Rare and highly sought after original UK 1969 12" LP, with gleaming and 1st press 1G / 1G matrix vinyl on the highly collectable HARVEST label, STEREO SHVL 760

Matrix Numbers : Side 1   SHVL 760 A - 1G with stampers "1" and "A" at 9.30 o'clock and 3.30 o'clock respectively ;  

Side 2  SHVL 760 B - 1G with stampers "1" and "A" at 9 o'clock and 2.30 o'clock respectively

A very collectable, impressive condition and highly presentable copy of this rare and sought after 1st press prog rock gem with truly excellent audio quality

Both sides of the flat vinyl gleam with the original jet black lacquered sheen. The vinyl is totally flat and appears to be in excellent condition in normal daylight; it is only with closer inspection under a bright light that just a few small hairlines and extremely light surface-only scuff marks come into view.  These trivial blemishes include x2 very faint parallel line scuffs on side 1, track 3 and on side 2 a 4cm wispy hairline and a 1.5cm very faint line scuff - all non-feelable, strictly surface only, not easy to spot, very trivial and not impinging upon the audio quality at all. A definite EXCELLENT (EX) for the condition of the vinyl.

The condition of the labels is EXCELLENT PLUS (EX+).  Beautiful, with the colours remaining rich, vibrant, and perfectly defined, and all label text in original perfect condition. If you look very closely under a bright light you may just be able to detect a single small and extremely faint spindle trail adjacent to the centre hole on each label...otherwise perfect!

The iconic non-laminated gatefold sleeve is a solid VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+). The top and bottom edges remain firm as does the spine except for a single minor crease on the spine just below the "FOREST" text which does slightly weaken the spine at that point. Mild rubbing does exist on each corner and there is mild scuffing which is continuous along the entire front bottom edge. There is also some sporadic light scuffing on the spine and along the top edge, though nothing nasty at all. On the reverse side there is just the hint of some very mild ring wear towards the top and bottom edges and the year "1969"  has been written at the top left corner. However, this iconic gatefold still remains fully functional and has retained all of it's lovely colours and art work. Furthermore there are no edge splits, no obvious creasing, and no tears; and the inside of the gatefold remains in excellent condition with al text fully intact. Still impressive, still very presentable. 

The audio quality is a definite EXCELLENT plus (EX+). These thick vinyl early "non-EMI" Harvest pressings were made to last, and they do. This copy plays beautifully with great tone and clarity, and lovely "depth" (the "depth" is the difference between an LP and a CD, in my opinion) even at higher volume and frequency. There are no clicks, skips, jumps, repeats, or background interference (just the merest hint of some very, very light background crackle during a couple of the quieter moments on side 2 - negligible). Truly excellent stereo audio reproduction with every track making for a great listen. Acid, folk, prog, psych...there's a bit of each on this timeless LP with great musicianship throughout. Enjoy.

Comes complete with the original plain white inner sleeve, with correct "PATENT Nos..." and "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" text with some mild creasing and a little age discolouration but no seam splits, no tears, and remaining fully functional. 

A highly collectable copy of this increasingly rare and hard to find 1969 UK 1st press folk/prog gem, with totally impressive stereo audio quality - a welcome addition to any serious vinyl collection.

Note that I always insert the vinyl(s) into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the sleeve itself  to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

Mint  The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent  The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good  The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good  The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair  The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor  The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing

Bad  The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
