HOLD UP / NATHALIE ... 7-inch, 45rpm OST single by FRANCO MICALIZZI. Obscure Italian soundtrack rarity featuring superb mood music from the cult poliziottesco / poliziotteschi / giallo crime thriller, Hold-up Istantanea Di Una Rapina. A film directed by Germàn Lorente starring Nathalie Delon / Enrico Maria Salerno and Frederick Stafford. For us, easily one of the best OST double-siders with that sleazy mid '70s Italian lounge sound. Haunting scat vocals by Edda Dell'Orso / manic fuzz distortions and psychedelic orchestrations with lo-fi boom bap / hip hop-esque drums on HOLD-UP. Comped on Italia Violenta Vol 1. The NATHALIE side is even better. A perfect example of youthful, carefree bossa lounge with a cinematic, sleazy undercurrent favoured by Cinecitta at the time. Lovely flute solos with spinettte / harpsichord and groovy rhythms. Most copies are usually trashed so very tricky to find in top condition. Rare OST 45!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is practically unplayed but has been graded strong VG+ condition due to the cloudy star splash pressing marks to both sides. Superb production sound overall but surface noises too. One audible tick to final second of 'Hold Up' side. Taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. The picture sleeve is in VG++ condition with light wear. Some ring creasing and corner wear from storage. Rare OST 45!!!
