DANCE TO IT Lp by VICTOR BACCHETTA AND HIS GROUP. Original Italian pressing on the ARISTON PRODUZIONE GNOMO label (AR-LP-12083) from 1972. Outstanding and still practically unknown Lp led by the legendary keyboard player. For us, one of the best and most underground / progressive funk sessions from Italy. Recorded on the same label, in the same year, and with the same session men as Mirageman's Thunder & Lightning Lp. Dance To It is also much funkier than Bacchetta's Organ & Piano and Sensations In Underground recording. Side A is where all the action is... Yet another en vogue Italian take on funk / soul / black psych / rock / jazz and lounge but with that twisted Bacchetta sound. Killer alternative versions of Rare Earth / Cane & Able / Ballin' Jack / James Brown and Sly Stone. Bugged-out synthesizer breaks / fuzzed-up hammond funk / tough beats and afro horn section on HEY BIG BROTHER / monster version of Rare Earth's I JUST WANT TO CELEBRATE with pounding hip hop drums / sinister moog / fuzz distortions / psychedelic rock rhythms and breaks. I'M A GREEDY MAN is Bacchetta's homage to James Brown with an infectious, drum heavy groove featuring JBs style horns and guitar vamps. FOUND A CHILD is also superb with insane wah wah breaks / aggressive B-boy drums and anthemic vocal hooks. IT'S TOO LATE is the classic Carole King composition with sleazy lounge vocals over a country fried / funk tinged, Freddy Cole - Brother Where Are You cum Bill Withers / Lou Rawls style groove. Maybe the only other hip tune (alongside Serge Gainsbourg's La Horse theme) to capture the groovier sound of the banjo ?!? Great for DJs. Our soundclip opens with a sample of breaks from FOUND A CHILD, followed by the rest of side A. All vocals sung in English with a splash of scat too. Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition with a few light hairlines from sleeve removal. Some light surface noises. The soft card sleeve with sexy model on the beach is closer to M- condition overall with a little creasing from storage. A few tiny wear marks to some corners and edges. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Very rare Lp!!!
