FRANK ZAPPA BURNT WEENY SANDWICH ORIG 1970 LP W/BOOKLET

Artist:Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention Title:Burnt Weenie Sandwich Label:Bizarre Year of release:1970 Catalog/Label number:RS 6370  stereo  (original blue label) Condition of vinyl:VG++ to Mint-   The glossy vinyl LP is very clean with a few light sleeve marks. Record plays flat with no warps. Play grade:Mint-   The entire album played very well with no problems. No hiss, clicks or skips. Condition of record cover:VG   The gatefold cover has some ring wear (mostly on the rear) and a 2 inch seam split at the center bottom edge. No cuts, holes, tears, markings or creases. The booklet/poster is in Mint- condition with no tears, cuts, markings or holes. Notes:From François Coutureat at allmusic:  "Burnt Weeny Sandwich is the first of two albums by the Mothers of Invention that Frank Zappa released in 1970, after he had disbanded the original lineup. While Weasels Ripped My Flesh focuses on complex material and improvised stage madness, this collection of studio and live recordings summarizes the leader's various interests and influences at the time. It opens and closes on '50s pop covers, "WPLJ" and "Valarie." "Aybe Sea" is a Zappafied sea shanty, while "Igor's Boogie" is named after composer Igor Stravinsky, the closest thing to a hero Zappa ever worshipped. But the best material is represented by "Holiday in Berlin," a theme that would become central to the music of 200 Motels, and "The Little House I Used to Live In," including a virtuoso piano solo by Ian Underwood. Presented as an extended set of theme and variations, the latter does not reach the same heights as "King Kong." In many places, and with the two aforementioned exceptions in mind, Burnt Weeny Sandwich sounds like a set of outtakes from Uncle Meat, which already summarized to an extent the adventures of the early Mothers. It lacks some direction, but those allergic to the group's grunts and free-form playing will prefer it to the wacky Weasels Ripped My Flesh." Songs:WPLJ - IGOR'S BOOGIE, PHASE ONE - OVERTURE TO A HOLIDAY IN BERLIN - THEME FROM BURNT WEENIE SANDWICH - IGOR'S BOOGIE, PHASE TWO - HOLIDAY IN BERLIN, FULL BLOWN - AYBE SEA - LITTLE HOUSEI USED TO LIVE IN - VALARIE          NO RESERVE!

Grading

MINT * Perfect record, clean gloss, no marks. A mint record is uncommon.

M- * Very clean only a few light marks; plays very well.
M- * Album cover - Near perfect with only minor signs of wear. There should be no ring wear.

VG++ * Surface marks, no scratches, should play and look very good with faint, if any, audible surface noise.
VG++ * Album cover - Some minor ring wear, but  should be in good condition overall.  Also, there can be some minor creases in the corners but no splits in seams.

VG+ * The record shows signs of use, but plays well despite quite visible surface marks and possibly some light scratches. This grading is often used for records which have not been cared for perfectly but still play well overall. A few very faint clicks may be allowed, and will be included in the description.
VG+ * Album cover - May have corners that may be slightly bent, but not broken. There may be wear to the seams but no tears or holes.

VG * Still a nice record, looks used, light scratches, no gouges, still plays fairly well. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music.
VG * Album cover - There may be seam splitting, but not complete separation of the sleeve panels from each other. There will be noticeable ring wear on the cover, but the cover should for the most part be in good condition.
