Description
Hi! You're looking at a great condition vinyl LP and a RARE and hard to find FIRST PRESSING (with the Playstylite "Ear" logo in the dead wax) on the Blue Note Records label and the fifth and final album by organist and composer FREDDIE ROACH (Frederick Roach) titled "All That's Good"--the album features the quartet of CONRAD LESTER on tenor saxophone, CALVIN NEWBORN on guitar and CLARANCE JOHNSTON on drums with a vocal trio. The LP was originally issued in the United States in 1965 and is an absolute FIRST PRESSING with VAN GELDER stamps and the Playstylite "Ear" in the runout grooves on both sides and bears the serial number BST-84190; it's a STEREO issue.
This LP is in great condition and the vinyl is in VG visual condition with a few light and small scratches, a few hairline marks, some moderate scuffs and a number of paper scuffs which have the most significant impact on track two of side one, which plays with some pops--THIS ALBUM HAS BEEN SOUND GRADED IN ITS ENTIRETY and sounds fantastic overall, except for track two, side one playing significantly ABOVE this visual grade and providing an excellent listening experience; the cover is in VG++ condition with a beautiful front surface, light vertical bowing, a small cut corner on the upper left spine edge, two small transparent pieces of tape on the lower center and right edge with light discoloration on a part of the upper edge of the tape, a small sticker shadow on the upper right corner of the front surface, very light ringwear on the back surface, slight dings on the tips and just light shelfwear otherwise but no other significant flaws!
Please Note: I CAN ship records outside of the United States but will need to get a weight estimate based on the final PACKAGED weight for this record--I cannot ship for the $4.00 U.S. Media Rate and the quoted International Shipping Rate may differ from the final shipping rate due to packaged weight differences so please wait to make payment until a final invoice is received. Thanks!
Vinyl Grading Standards (unless otherwise indicated, LPs are visually graded)
Mint (or M) – Sealed and effectively perfect with no signs of wear or ever having been played.
Near Mint -- A record with only the slightest evidence of ever having been handled.
Very Good Plus Plus (VG++) A very clean record that has no marks aside from slight scuffs and abrasions caused by removal from a paper inner sleeve or perhaps a few marks on the label caused by a turntable spindle.
Very Good Plus (VG+) A record that has had a number of plays and may have some superficial scuffs, possibly mild to moderate spindle marks and / or possibly hairline scratches on the vinyl, which may produce some intermittent pops and possibly very light background noise.
Very Good (VG) A record that has generally been well cared for, but has seen a fair amount of play, with some scuffing. hairline scratches, spindle marks and / or light scratches. Should play through well, with the possibility of more pops and more background noise.
Very Good Minus (VG-) A record with significant scuffs, scratches, and spindle marks that should play through with moderate pops and surface noise, possibly of some duration.
Good (G) A record with will play through, but with significant pops, substantial background noise, and possibly intermittent skipping.
Poor (P) A record with MAJOR issues that will interfere with play, and will possibly be unplayable in part due to damage (I'll only offer an LP in this condition if it's an extreme rarity and / or for cover art display purposes).
A fantastic find, and a beautiful copy of this vinyl LP!
Thanks very much for looking, and good luck if you're bidding!
