Very nice, original, rare 1969 UK first pressing 10-track stereo vinyl LP on the pink Island label with orange and black 'eye' logo, and matte gatefold picture sleeve. The classic debut album from this highly influential band is extremely difficult to find as a first pressing - most copies that turn up for sale are on the ‘i' or pink rimed 'palm tree' label. This copy is in superb condition!
The labels are the rough textured pink Island design with black and orange 'eye' logo. There are minimal spindle marks on the labels, and the labels are very clean and crisp.
The near fifty year old vinyl is in remarkable EX+ condition. The sound is clear and dynamic throughout and it plays beautifully. It exhibits just a very few, very light cosmetic hairline surface marks from sleeve removal that are none feelable & nothing that would cause any deterioration in the fantastic sound quality at all. It looks to have been played very few times.
The EJ Day manufactured matte gatefold picture sleeve is showing very few signs of age with very light shelfwear and corner scuffing, overall it is in excellent condition for a near fifty year old matte sleeve. The spine is solid and the text clear and completely unspoilt, unlike many examples. The edges haven't split, there are no tears and the entire sleeve is free from writing.
Overall a remarkable copy!
