The Horrors keys/bass man Tom Furse showcases his love for (and knowledge of) library music with this delicious Lo Recordings compendium. Given access to the Southern Library Of Record Music and told to plunder as merrily as he liked, Furse describes the collection himself as "the bastard sounds of pop fancy"... Which isn't far off the mark. From the intergalactic magic carpet ride of "Everglades" to the horn-hype and muted trumpet silliness of big band swing cut "For Joan To Dance To" by way of the flute-firing, big screen tree top chase of "Tarzan Talk", each cut is written to a clear visual brief but works so well in other contexts. With many of the tracks having never been released before, this is a coup on a variety of levels.
