Description

Original UK pressing 1971 of "FUZZY DUCK" LP, MAM-AS-1005, Stereo. MAM Records Ltd, Great Britain. Much sought after classic of UK underground progressive rock and psychedelia. Rare limited edition of only 500 copies in 1971. Album reach legendary status as it features Mick Harnsworth of Five Day Week Straw People and Andromeda + Roy Sharland, keyboardist who later worked with The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown and Spice. Classic keyboard driven British progressive rock in the vein of Soft Machine and Caravan.

I bought this original copy way back in 1983 and have kept it in my personal collection (heat and humidity controlled environment), in a sealed clear plastic sleeve for protection.

I am a collector and don't typically sell many records, however I am now purchasing many of the newer  technology pressings on both vinyl and CD (SACD, HDCD, 180/200 gram) so I am selling off a few of my collectible records.

So that you are confident with your purchase, I am going to be overly critical in the description so you know exactly the condition of the album and sleeve. I have seen these for sale rarely in the past, and the descriptions tend to be rather vague.

THE COVER JACKET: The cover is glossy and is very shiny. Seams are solid, not split. Only some minimal creasing, primarily in the upper/lower right corners, but rather minor, barely seen unless on closer inspection. Remember, this is an orginal album from 1971 and is 33 years old! Considering that, I think the cover is in quite good condition. Oveall the cardboard used was rather thin, so I would imagine that some creasing happening naturally even when the album was new. Not unreasonable at all. Very minor wear to right side (opening) of sleeve. The back demonstrates nominal wear. It is a white, non-coated paper, so there is some minor ring wear, but again nothing extraordinary or to be concerned about, given its age. I can't imagine too many have survived in better condition.

THE VINYL RECORD: I personally took this out only recently to inspect. I first cleaned it on my VPI HW17F professional record cleaning machine, which I do with all of my vinyl before I play. It is one of the most important tools for any serious vinyl collector. The record is black and shiny, and may never have been played. I tested it just last night and it sounds very good, like most records of that era and with minimal surface noise. The only visible scratch, which is very minor indeed, almost superficial (on only the very top surface of the vinyl itself) is on track 1 (and very tiny bit of track 2). I played these completely through and it creates barely noticeable noise, more of a very minor crackling on the lead in. Personally, I've kept new albums that have had more noise than this. Again, it is very minor and I don't think you will be disappointed. The black MAM label is like new on both sides of the record, no visible wear on either side, as good as the day it was pressed. Other than the very minor issue with the surface scratch, I would venture to say the record was either never played and is quite similar to the day it was pressed.

Winner pays nominal $5 shipping charge, first class mail in the United States, $8 for Canada, which includes full insurance and delivery confirmation on the final selling price. The album will be doubly protected for shipment w/extra cardboard and placed in an overbox, with bubble packing/peanuts inbetween to prevent any shipping damage. Will accept money order (postal recommended and preferred), well hidden cash (not recommended though) or a check (will wait for clearance). Payment expected within one week of auction close. Will quote shipping/insurance for any country outside of North America - will be exact cost, I will not mark up.

Any questions or additional scans, please email me, I will be glad to help.
