Description

Fairport Convention - Liege & Lief

(Island Records ILPS 9115 UK Stereo LP 1969)

This is a 1969 UK 1st pressing LP. It has a heavyweight matte gatefold sleeve. "Island Records" has the "Basing Street., London W11" address on the rear sleeve. The sleeve is printed by "E.J. Day". It comes with its original generic polythene lined company paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has "Pink Island" labels. These have the "White i" logo on them. The record has 1st press ILPS 9115 A-1 and ILPS 9115 B-1 matrix numbers.

This is a genuine UK "Pink Island" 1st pressing. It has the earliest matrix numbers. These are getting hard to find nowadays. I have some other rare & collectable UK original 1960's & 1970's Folk, Prog, Psych, Rock etc... LP's for sale. Please see my other listings.

Gatefold Sleeve: There is mild, very mild or more moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges on some areas. This is not too noticeable. There is some light or very minor hairline rubbing wear on the top edges on a few areas. There is mild fading to the spine area. Otherwise, the spine is in very nice condition. The spine text is completely legible. The inner gatefold is in very nice condition too. There is some light, very mild or very minor ringwear on a few areas. This is mainly on the rear sleeve. Overall, Very Good+ condition

Vinyl: There is a mild 6 cm hairline surface mark at the start of Side 1. There are two light 4 cm hairline surface sleeve rub marks on Side 1. These are quite near to each other. They are not too noticeable under a strong light. There is a mild 10 cm hairline surface mark that goes midway across Side 1. It is not too noticeable under a strong light.

Otherwise, there are some light. mild, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rub marks which can only be seen under a strong light. There are a few areas of more moderate surface sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, on Side 1. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light Side 1 is in Good++ condition. Side 2 is in Very Good++ condition. Overall, Very Good condition. The labels are in Very Near Excellent condition & show mild or very mild spindle wear.

The original polythene-lined company paper inner sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.

I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall, and Near Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. There is a mild click on the last track on Side 1. There are no other noticeable clicks or pops. Overall, a very reasonable audio copy.
