Description
The infamously untalented Florence Foster Jenkins (called by critics a ''cluckeratura," ''the dire diva of din," ''the caterwauling countess of cacophony," or a ''hogcalleratura") produced a handful of records on the private Melotone label before she died in 1944. This record is one of her most legendary, the "Queen of the Night" aria from Mozart's "The Magic Flute" on one side, and "Serenata Mexicana" on the other. The "Serenata Mexicana" is an original composition created for Jenkins by her long-time accompanist Cosme McMoon.
This disc unfortunately has a hairline crack on the "Queen of the Night" side, but it does not go through to the other side of the disc, and it does not affect play. Aside from the crack, the disc is in VG condition with some minor scuffs and scratches, but nothing at all deep.
