Record is unused; though shrinkwrap has been opened enough to place laid-ins, but not open enough to take record out. There is a hint of wear to outside corners.

An unusual record from American socialite and amateur operatic soprano Florence Foster Jenkins [born Nascina Florence Foster] (1868-1944). This is a collection of some of Jenkin's classics. She was born into a wealthy Pennsylvania family and so was free to pursue any ambition, regardless of practicality. There are those who say she had no musical talent at all, but that's not necessarily a prerequisite for fame [William Hung, for example]. She had quite a following in the day, partially due to her over-the-top costumes. Her performances were mostly in clubs and New York's Grand Ballroom, but at 76 she yielded to public demand and performed at Carnegie Hall. Two days after this she had a heart attack and died a month later.
The B-side contains songs from Jenny Williams and Thomas Burns, two unknown musicians incorporated to fill out the album - Jenkins only recorded a handful of songs in her lifetime. The album cover has a photo of Jenkins in her famous "Angel of Inspiration" costume. Three magazine clippings related to her are laid-in, and are the reason the shrinkwrap is partially torn.

One interesting anecdote: Jenkins was in a taxi collision in 1943, screaming at the moment of impact. Shortly afterward, she noticed that her voice range extended to a higher F than before the accident. Grateful, she sent the cab driver a box of expensive cigars.
