Description

Very rare Acetate record of Frank Zappa and his band practising his release of Sleep Dirt. Matrix #DSK-2292 LW1. All instrumental and on side 2 there are two guys saying a few things in between sets. " A......F--- ".  " Got that tempo? " Uhu ". " Man, gettin tired? " " Naw, my fingers got stuck ". There are 7 songs, the only one I know is Sleep Dirt, the first song on side 1. The last one on side 2 runs about 15 minutes or longer. This is an original recording on them rehersing. Record label is white with, " Warner Bros. Records Inc. Available only to technical and other authorized personel for the limited purpose of testing and review. Not to be publicly performed. Reproduced, Sold or otherwise distributed".

The material on this album was originally intended to be part of a 4 record set called Lather. Prepared for release in 1977. Then Frank Zappa got into a disagreement with his record company, Warner Bros. and Lather was split up into several different releases as part of a contractual agreement. Thus, "Sleep Dirt" was not released until 1979.
