A Blue Note perennial from 1960, Hubbard's output for this label is considered perhaps his finest overall and Open Sesame, his very first for the label, may be the best of the lot. Joined by Tina Brooks on tenor, McCoy Tyner at the piano, Sam Jones' bass and drummer Clifford Jarvis, this ol' mother Hubbard blows his trumpet with fire and fury, taking no prisoners.

Part of Classic Records Blue Note Reissue mastered by Bernie Grundman is all-analog, mastered  from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at RTI. This Test pressing is still sealed.
