Description
Here is a way cool very hard to find original King Mono LP and an oddball combo. Freddy's Let's Hide Away and Dance Away (King 773) was originally issued in 1961 and has some his of very best instrumentals on it. When the surf music craze hit in 1963 King released Freddy King Goes Surfin' (King LP 856) with the exact same songs with audience applause overdubbed at the beginning and end of each song. The LP up for auction has an original Let's Hide Away cover with the Freddy King Goes Surfin' vinyl. The best part is that the vinyl is in extremely nice condition. I am rating it at Mint Minus (eBay prefers Excellent). Super glossy playing surface with only a few very very light surface scratches. Just a few spindle marks as well. This record has barely been played. I had a few low levels ticks at the beginning of a couple of tracks otherwise it plays Near Mint. A rare find as most Blues LP's from this era has been played to death! If you are a Freddy King collector you could mix and match the covers. You will probably never find a cleaner vinyl copy of this. The cover is pretty nice except for the seam splits mentioned above. ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons rates Freddy King Goes Surfin' as one of his Top 10 best Blues albums of all time. It is a killer LP, that's for sure. In the run out groove K-12-856- B-1 and K-12-856-A-1. Could be yours... This has been cleaned on a pro VPI 17F record cleaning machine which vastly lowers the noise floor and improves the sound of any record dramatically. While eBay requires us to post Media Mail at $4 I highly encourage any US buyer to pay $7 extra and use Priority Mail as it is a much faster service and records get much better treatment during shipping. Media Mail can also be very slow at times (up to two weeks) while Priority Mail is 2-3 days anywhere in the US. No hassle return policy. Strict play grading by seller with many years experience of selling high quality vinyl. Heavy duty packing. Please email any questions. US shipping. Media Mail $4. (can be slow with so so handling of package). US Priority Mail $11 (much faster, better handing. Great service). UK Air Mail $20 Australia / Japan Air Mail $20 Canada Air Mail $14 Other countries send message, but similar to above prices. Can combine shipping for slight additional cost.
