LP a copertina non apribile. Rara 2° stampa, con inserto di 2 pagine, con testi in inglese e note biografiche, discografiche in giapponese, inner sleeve con indicazioni dei testi. Obi a colori a sfondo verde e giallo, riportante il prezzo di yen 2.500.

I Free furono un gruppo hard rock britannico formato a Londra nel 1968. I Free nascono a Londra nel 1968 quando Paul Kossoff (1950 - 1976) e Simon Kirke (1949), rispettivamente chitarrista e batterista dei Black Cat Bones, contattano il cantante Paul Rodgers (1949) dopo averlo visto in azione con la sua blues band, i Brown Sugar. Come bassista viene reclutato il sedicenne Andy Fraser (1952). Con la protezione di Alexis Korner (responsabile anche della scelta del nome), i quattro fanno serate in piccoli club creandosi un certo seguito, firmano così per la Island Records e publicano il loro esordio: Tons of Sobs. La voce graffiante di Rodgers e i grintosi assoli di Kossoff personalizzano un sound che negli anni a venire non sarà più così energico. Nel secondo album, Free, i toni si fanno infatti più morbidi e pacati concedendo largo spazio alle armonie vocali. Il grande successo arriva comunque con Fire and Water, contenente il brano All Right Now, caratterizzato da un riff di chitarra e un ritornello che li porterà in cima alle classifiche di USA e Regno Unito. I Free si separano al culmine della carriera, nel 1971, per dedicarsi a progetti diversi con scarso successo per tutti e quattro. Si rimettono quindi insieme nel 1972, e, dopo ripetuti cambi di formazione e i problemi di droga di Kossoff, pubblicano Free at Last (1972) e Heartbreaker (1973). Fraser lascia il gruppo formando la Andy Fraser Band e lasciando il posto al bassista giapponese Tetsu Yamauchi, entra anche il tastierista texano John "Rabbit" Bundrick già con Johnny Cash, tuttavia il gruppo britannico non riesce a trovare la stabilità per l'abbandono di Kossoff prima della conclusione di Heartbreaker (in alcune date è Rodgers a improvvisarsi chitarrista). In seguito Rodgers e Kirke ritrovano la gloria con i Bad Company, Tetsu si unisce ai Faces e Bundrick intraprende la carriera solista diventando dal 1979 tastierista live degli Who. Kossoff, dopo due anni di cure intensive e quando sembrava essere tornato al meglio (pubblica un album da solista e due con i Back Street Crawler), muore per un attacco cardiaco nel 1976 sull'aereo che lo stava portando a New York. Dal 1974 al 2002 vengono pubblicate antologie dei Free rimasterizzate e arricchite di inediti e versioni alternative dei loro successi. Conclusa l'esperienza Bad Company, Paul Rodgers intraprende l'attività come solista e nel 2005, dall'incontro con Brian May e Roger Taylor dei Queen, nasce il progetto Queen + Paul Rodgers, che porta la formazione ad esibirsi in tutto il mondo con un repertorio celebrativo comprendente i successi di entrambi, anche se con un taglio principalmente 'Queen'. Il tour 2005-2006, sull'ondata emotiva post-Freddie Mercury, riscuote enorme successo e da origine ad un doppio CD live dal nome Return of the Champions. Attualmente i Queen + Paul Rodgers sono in studio a lavorare su un nuovo album di pezzi inediti la cui pubblicazione è prevista per il 2007 con tour mondiale nel 2008.

The Free were an English rock band formed in London in 1968. Free I was born in London in 1968 when Paul Kossoff (1950 - 1976) and Simon Kirke (1949), respectively guitarist and drummer of Black Cat Bones, contact the singer Paul Rodgers (1949) after seeing him in action with his blues band, The Brown Sugar. The sixteen year old was recruited as bassist Andy Fraser (1952). With the protection of Alexis Korner (also responsible for choosing the name), four nights in small clubs are thereby creating a following, sign this for Island Records and publishing their debut: Tons of sobs. The voice scratchy and gritty solos Rodgers Kossoff customize a sound that in the years ahead will not be so energetic. Second album, Free, the tones will make it softer and calm allowing ample room for vocal harmonies. The big breakthrough came however with Fire and Water, containing the track All Right Now, featuring a guitar riff and a chorus that will lead them to top the charts in the U.S. and the UK. The Free split at the height of his career in 1971 to devote himself to other projects with little success for all four. We then call together in 1972 and, after several lineup changes and the problems of drug Kossoff, publish Free at Last (1972) and Heartbreaker (1973). Fraser left the band to form the Andy Fraser Band and giving way to Japanese bassist Tetsu Yamauchi, also enters the Texan keyboardist John "Rabbit" Bundrick already with Johnny Cash, however, the British group is unable to find stability for the abandonment of Kossoff before the conclusion of Heartbreaker (on selected dates and Rodgers improvising guitarist). Following Rodgers and Kirke found glory with Bad Company, Tetsu joins the Faces and Bundrick starting a solo career in 1979 becoming the Who live keyboardist. Kossoff, after two years of intensive care and when they seemed to be back to his best (he released an album solo and two with the Back Street Crawler), dies of a heart attack in 1976 on the plane that was carrying him to New York. From 1974 to 2002 are published anthologies of Free remastered and enriched with new and alternative versions of their hits. On completion of the experience Bad Company, Paul Rodgers activity started as a soloist and in 2005, by meeting with Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen, was born on the draft Queen + Paul Rodgers, who leads the training to perform all over the world with celebrating successes, including a repertoire of both, although with major cuts 'Queen'. The tour 2005-2006, the emotional post-Freddie Mercury, collecting huge success and gives rise to a double live CD by the name "Return of the Champions. Currently, Queen + Paul Rodgers are in the studio working on a new album of unreleased pieces to be released in 2007 with a world tour in 2008.
