Description
This is a confusing one. 10" 45 RPM demo acetate of a song by Dee Fuller (wrote dozens of songs for Elvis, and dated Ed Wood), Ben Raleigh (who wrote songs for The Monkees, Lou Rawls, Leslie Gore, and Aretha Franklin, and "Tell Laura I Love Her"), and Mark Barkan (who wrote lots of songs for Elvis, The Banana Splits, "Pretty Flamingo," and more. No idea who the demo singer is, but clearly this was in the "Elvis" style, and almost certainly was submitted to him. Nothing to do with the Neil Diamond hit of the same title, which it clearly predates by many years. Acetate is in nice VG+ shape, with typical storage marks for a vintage acetate. Songwriters names written on the label. Complete with cue sheet. Best of all the song is an excellent pop-rock track, with a garage edge and loud fuzz. If it doesn't sell, it's going in the permanent collection. THIS IS NOT ELVIS PRESLEY. It is a cool song that was likely written with him in mind, but people who worked with him regularly.
