Description
Where this has been for the last 50 years, I don't know, but you probably would have to look long and hard to find a better preserved set. Everything indicates that the set has never been played. The four box sets are like new. The Seraphim Guide to the Ring is present. The records appear unplayed in their original sleeves in sequential side-order in the boxes with no "worm tracks" on the labels. The librettos are without handling marks of any kind. The outer slipcase has no appreciable shelf wear but has two minor flaws: a lightly bumped corner and an inclusion sealed under the paper that causes a small bump at the bottom front, probably as manufactured. See the photos for these defects. If you are looking for one of these sets, I doubt if you could do better than this one. This is Furtwangler's second recording made of Wagner's complete Ring Cycle in Rome in 1953, not to be confused with his first recorded cycle made at La Scala, Milan in 1950. It is the best recorded of the two. This is a heavy set and will be sent securely packed via Media Mail.
