This is a private sale - from my own, personal, collection - I am not a record dealer.
'Happy The Man' comes as a solid centre 'Pink Scroll' 45 RPM single (b/w.'Seven Stones') contained within the original
plain white 'trade' cardboard sleeve. There is no picture sleeve for this particular Promo version - nor have I ever had one. 
Collectors amongst you will immediately recognise this version: a Promo Sample bearing the prominent 'A'
and the caption 'D.J. SAMPLE / NOT FOR SALE'. Of interest is that I have not been able to tell, from the unique stamped matrix numbers (and hand engraved 'RAY'),
if this is a rather more unique and earlier 'Promo' version than those already well-documented.  
Audibly, it plays well on my Bang & Olufsen / Diamond Stylus set-up - no clicks or scratches ruining the ambience.
Some spitting and crackling of course as the stylus runs in and runs out - but still above average quality for its 47 years age.

GENERAL
 CATALOGUE NUMBER IS CHARISMA C.B. 181
Stamped Matrix Numbers (see my detailed image) are:
CB 181  A-2U  C <T _(front) CB 181 B-1U > K1 _(reverse) .... with the hand engraved 'RAY' on the front side.

TRACKLIST
Simply two tracks - 'Happy the Man' and 'Seven Stones' (from the band's 'Nursery Crymes' album)

CONDITION - The White Cardboard Outer This is a standard 'Music Industry' sample thick, plain, cardboard, sleeve - with no text or imagery. Simply practical.
Mild indication of light rubbing from storage - and a slight age discolouration.
Free of other marks, gouges, writing, etc. - but one very gentle 'dog-ear/crease' - see my images.
CONDITION - The Vinyl In excellent condition ("Very Good Plus/Near Mint") condition.  I have always kept my record collection - including singles - carefully cleaned and (as humanly possible) dust-free.

Under scrutiny of  my 'natural light' task lamp, there are no scratches - but inevitably, minor, scuff marks from the inner sleeve.
I have, however, pinpointed (see detail image) one mark on Side A - not a marked scratch (i.e. it doesn't 'sound' in the audio) - but likely the result of the rubbing from some small random particle that may once have lurked in the sleeve - or, perhaps, a skipping stylus.
But I GUARANTEE that it is very slight and certainly inaudible..
Having play-tested both sides, I can report a flaw-free performance on 'Happy the Man': no clicks, skips, scratches or anything to spoil the enjoyment. 'Seven Stones' appears to have a little more 'static' (it is a quieter track) - but, again, no scratches or jumps, etc..
Both sides have the typical ambient 'hiss and crackle' as the stylus runs in/runs out.
CONDITION - The Record Labels All are in perfect condition (I've shown them all in my images) - with no colour loss, no rubbing - and they reveal NO spindle marks.
OVERALL CONDITION and 'SIGN OFF' ... I have described the content and condition of this item honestly and in good faith ... ... in order that you can be sure that there are no nasty surprises !
I am not a record dealer, as I have said, but I have been strictly guided by the Discogs 'Goldmine Standard' grading, by my own visual inspection and by my own test-playing.

Simply and finally:

The VINYL - I would describe as NEAR MINT (at worse VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS!)
The COVER  -  I would describe as VERY GOOD 
A COLLECTOR'S ITEM - AND, IN THIS CONDITION, A PARTICULARLY IMPRESSIVE ONE!
