GENESIS Happy The Man DJ Sample (promotional copy) of the single. First issue with the letter "A" in a bold type-face, and the words "D.J. Sample Not For Sale" on both sides (second issue has a lighter letter A, and D.J. Sample Not For Sale wording on the A-side, but not the B-side). I've graded the record as EX, it has some surface wear - mainly light, wispy hairline marks, more prevalent on the B-side, A-side in much better. Labels look okay and there is someone's name written on the A-side. Record has a crack at the outer edge which the seller from whom I originally got this copy, assured me that the crack did not effect play, though I personally wouldn't chance it.Both versions of the promotional copy are rare, though this one is much harder to find than the second version, which was pressed up later in the year I believe, and used to re-promote the single in October of that year. Worth picking up, because the chance of another copy appearing, is very slim. I can provide more photos, if required.
NB: I am a private collector and this particular single, and all of the others I have listed, were mine and are now surplus to requirements. Media (record) graded first — visually under LED lighting, followed by the sleeve.

Grading system
I use the standard grading system introduced by Record Collector to determine the condition of the records I am selling, with either a + or – added where necessary to provide a wider selection of grades for greater accuracy.
- Mint (M)
The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. - Excellent (EX)
The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. - Very Good (VG)
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. - Good (G)
The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc. - Fair (F)
The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. - Poor (P)
The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. - Bad (B)
The record is unplayable or might even be broken and is only of use as a collection-filler.
