This Auction is for:

TITLE:  Gigi – Promotional Issue – Music by Lerner & Lowe – My Guide Book seems to indicate this should be a 3 disc set but I believe they base that on the blurb on the Sleeve that mentions 3 “Great MGM Record Albums”. Rather, this single LP contains excerpts from 3 different albums. The first, contributing 4 tracks to Side 1 is the Soundtrack LP. That side also contains 2 tracks done by The Dick Hyman Trio. On Side 2 we begin with 4 tracks done by David Rose and then 2 more, again by The Dick Hyman Trio. I suspect David Rose and Dick Hyman both issued some music from Gigi that was then included here. Hyman did issue an LP called “Gigi” MGM E-3642. David Rose was also recording for MGM in the 50’s and may have included some tunes from Gigi in any of several LP’s he issued.

LABEL/NUMBER:  MGM MG 1 and 2 – Mono Vinyl LP Album with Yellow and Black Label.

DISC CONDITION:  This vinyl pressing is VG+ or better. It looks hardly played.

COVER CONDITION:  This single pocket Cover is similar to an Inner Sleeve from the era but printed on shiny paper.  This one looks great but has suffered some over the years. The bottom seam is almost entirely split. One edge has separated from the flap it was glued to for about 8 inches but could easily be reglued. The other edge has a similar problem but for only an inch or 2 near the bottom. The LP is being stored in a separate paper sleeve to prevent more damage to the MGM Sleeve. Both will be mailed in a Generic LP Cover.
