GLENN MILLER Wartime Radio Broadcast ACETATE 10" AEF Band 1944 unique RARE!
Very rare one-sided 10-inch 'direct recording' acetate record from 1944?, manufactured by The Master Sound System Recording Co. Ltd., Colnbrook, Bucks., England.This would appear to be Glenn Miller and his American Band of the Allied Expeditionary Force doing a live broadcast in Britain. This was recorded onto this one of a kind disc presumedly to be played on the radio to Allied troops to boost morale during the war. Features seven tracks, with the first track being a short interview with Glenn by a well spoken English gentleman named Vernon, during which Glenn mentions that he has been in England for just about three months.
Highly collectable piece of World War 2 memorabilia, recorded in the same year that Glenn Miller went missing in action. Has probably never been released or even heard since it was broadcast!
Plays at 33rpm.
Comes in plain sleeve.
Vinyl in 'good' condition with some scuffs and surface marks but is still well listenable.
