ARGUABLY THE most accessible Gong album in a career loaded with obtuse and complex recordings. True, the band operate very much at the more acquired end of the prog rock spectrum with a zany sense of the absurd and crashing musical ideas but their appeal, especially here, is very focused and ideologically sound. In a brazen move to embrace the mainstream they enlisted admirer Nick Mason, Pink Floyd's drummer, to produce the record giving it a greater degree of easy on the ear appeal. The results are quite spectacular.
The music is still essentially wacky yet controlled with all sorts of less confrontational melody. With titles such as 'Wingful Of Eyes', 'Cat In Clark's Shoes' and the title track itself' it couldn't be anything less than brilliantly constructed.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Lovely clean and shiny condition. Can't see any spindle marks and virtually no other signs of use. Grades as a strong, almost shop fresh, MINT-!
Cover: Again, clean and tidy. Issued in a wonderfully illustrated gate-fold cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Nice square and stiff spine. Displays some general storage and handling wear - nothing to worry about. Grades as a nice Ex
