Description
This is a fine copy of a 1984 comp/archival LP of singles and unreleased tracks by Iowa punk group Gonn. The group was responsible for one of the classic 45s of the genre, 1966's "Blackout of Gretely." They released two singles overall; all four 45 sides are here, of course, along with nine other songs, all but one of them covers (the sole original is the fabulous lo-fi screamfest, "Doin' Me in"). The record comes with extensive liner notes on the jacket's back cover giving a history of the band. This material has been re-comped a few times since, but this release was the first to put it out in any format. The jacket has light to moderate creasing and wear in one corner and along the spine, but is otherwise close to pristine -- EX(-). The disc is clean with a few light scrapes, and plays with minimal surface noise (not counting noise from source discs in 1-2 tracks) -- a strong M-.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
