Description
For auction, here is: Grail - s/t. German pressing of this elusive British prog lp. Label is Metronome. Cat. # is MLP 15 393. Manufactured in Germany. This is an original German pressing from 1971. Produced by Rod Stewart and with strange, "monstrous" sleeve art.
SLEEVE.....Fully laminated. The edges are in M-. condition. The front is in EX+ condition. The rear is M-.
BRILLIANT condition, esp. for a 37 year old sleeve. Grade as EX+ for sure.
LABELS.....There is NO unwanted writing, stickers, residue or tears. This album has obviously always been handled with great care.
VINYL..... Both sides of this fantastic album still have their JUST PRESSED deep black shine. FULL GLOSS.
When you hold this album in the very brightest of direct lights, there are just some faint hairlines. Looks like from going in and out of paper sleeve. There is 1 small mark at start of S1 and one noticable scuff on the last 2 tracks of S1. None affect play.
I have played this album on my very sensitive and revealing "Rega Planar 2" and the sound is UN-WORN, it is full and crisp there is NO loss of sound quality at all, wonderful sound stage and stereo separation. There is just the feintest of dust crackles that can be heard in the quiet parts of the music or between tracks. Thats all. Nothing else to report. Somewhat miraculous, given the age. I would have to play grade this disc as EX(+). These original pressings are second to none. This really is a great copy that any collector would be delighted to add to their collection, a real KEEPER . Grade as EX(-).
Packed well with double protection on each side and corner protection as well. Disc will be placed outside sleeve so no splits possible.
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE RARITY OF THIS ALBUM
EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND IN ANY CONDITION!
