Jazz GEORGE SHEARING & MEL TORME Paul Masson Vineyards SIGNED album 1982 Here is a bit of a treasure for a jazz fans. The album is called ‘An Evening With George Shearing & Mel Torme’ presented by Paul Masson Vineyards and Concord Records. The album is signed by both Shearing and Torme in black sharpie on the front of the album cover. The recording was made in April 1982 at the Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco. It was the first of six albums that Tormé and Shearing recorded together for Concord Records, and Tormé's performance on this album won him the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Performance, Male at the 25th Grammy Awards.
Five tracks each side include: SIDE 1 ~ All God’s Chillin Got Rhythm ~ Born To Be Blue ~ Give Me The Simple Life ~ Good Morning Heartache ~ Manhattan Hoedown. SIDE 2 ~ You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To ~ A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square ~ Love ~ It Might As Well Be Spring ~ Lullaby Of Birdland
The record itself looks to be in excellent playing condition and the cover has some minor edge wear but over all is very good with no bends or tears.
