GRAND FUNK RAILROAD Phoenix ORIG UK Capitol NEAR MINT 1/1 GATEFOLD SLEEVE
Grand Funk Railroad, Phoenix.
Original 1972 UK pressed Capitol Records stereo LP, EA-ST 11099.
Earliest issue with 1/1 matrix suffixes and housed in fully outer laminated "Garrod and Lofthouse" gatefold sleeve.
A superbly preserved copy of this scarce early UK issue Grand Funk LP.
Vinyl is near mint. Spider trail marks around the spindle areas indicates just a very few plays. Clearly a carefully handled LP, as the surfaces still have an as new gloss with just a couple of the wispiest of superficial hairline surface scuffs.
Gatefold sleeve is similarly well preserved and grades a solid top end EX plus. All main panels are not only free of marks, but the exterior laminate still has a vivid and bright undulled gloss, free of any dinks or hairlines. There are just one or two miniscule pinch line creases leading in from the edge areas to the main panels. There is just a fraction of rubbing visible to the top of the rear panel, but this is absolutely minimal. The spine is in superb unbroken and uncreased condition and with a perfectly square head and foot. The entry side is firm and sharp with no feathering and just one or hints of gentle dinging, very minor.
All in all a top end issue, which should satisfy the most demanding of collectors.
