Green Day's third release and major label debut, Dookie turned the San Francisco Bay area trio into overnight stars in 1994, and the group never looked back. The band's infectious brand of modern punk revitalized the genre with it's flippant humor and ironic self-loathing.

The album produced the live hip singles "Longview" "Welcome to Paradise" "Basket Case" "She" and "When I Come Around" and remains the bands biggest selling record. Dookie won the 1995 Grammy Award for the Best Alternative Music Performance. Green Day was also nominated for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocal and "Longview" was nominated for the Best Hard Rock Performance.
