On offer here is a very rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by The Groundhogs called 'Scratching The Surface' and is a 1968 UK 1st Pressing on the 1st Press Blue Liberty label!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND (ESPECIALLY IN THIS SUPERB CONDITION)!!!! IN FACT - THIS IS THE RAREST GROUNDHOGS LP EVER AND IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AS A 100% GENIUNE 1ST PRESSING!!!! HOWEVER WHAT MAKES THIS THE RAREST VERSION OF ANY GROUNDHOGS LP EVER - IS THAT IT IS PRESSED IN MEGA RARE STEREO!!!! MANY PEOPLE ACTUALLY WRONGLY ASSUME THAT THE MONOS ARE RARER - WHEN THIS CLEARLY ISNT THE CASE. VIRTUALLY EVERY 1ST PRESSING OF THIS LP WAS MADE IN MONO - AND STEREO SALES ONLY STARTED TO PICK UP LATER ON WHEN MONOS WERE DISCONTINUED AND BY THEN THE LABELS HAD CHANGED TO THE COMMON BLACK LIBERTY LABEL!!!! BUT THIS LP WAS BOUGHT ON THE DAY OF RELEASE BY ITS PREVIOUS 1 OWNER FROM NEW AND IS SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AS A 100% GENIUNE STEREO 1ST PRESSING!!!! NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN ABSOLUTELY SUPERB CONDITION!!!! IT HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL - AND BOTH THE RECORD & THE FULLY LAMINATED COVER ARE IN ABSOLUITELY SUPERB CONDITION!!!! PLEASE ALSO NOTE - THAT THE COVER ON THIS LP IS A 100% GENIUNE 1ST PRESS COVER (NOT A LATER 'SWOPPED' ONE) WITH 'PLEATED' ENDS TO THE SPINE (LATER COVERS DONT THIS)!!!! THIS IS THE 1968 UK 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS BLUE LIBERTY LABEL, 1ST PRESS INNER SLEEVE, AND 1ST PRESS FULLY LAMINATED COVER!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND (ESPECIALLY IN THIS SUPERB CONDITION) - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!! This is the ORIGINAL UK 1st Pressing from 1968 and is in SUPERB condition!!!! The Cat. No is LBS 83199E on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Blue Liberty label (see picture) and is a UK Stereo 1st pressing!!!!
The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and barely ANY spindle marks AT ALL!!!! IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL!!!! The vinyl is in SUPERB condition!!!! Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, NO hairlines, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!! There is also an absolutely TINY and almost INVISIBLE line on the VERY outside of one run on groove ONLY (only visible under the brightest light possible and most would NEVER even see this - let alone mention it!) - but this really must be discounted from the grading as it is on the VERY edge of the record, DOES NOT extend anywhere NEAR the actual playing surface, and only causes 2 of the softest clicks you have EVER heard on the 2 outside rings of the run on grooves ONLY - and who plays those???? ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!! THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK!!!! It is great to find that the playing of the record is as STUNNING as the visual!!!! It plays with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!!!! The sound quality is simply AWESOME with NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!! The record must grade FULL Excellent if not Excellent+!!!! SUPERB RECORD!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press inner sleeve!!!! The 1st Press FULLY Laminated Cover is in SUPERB condition!!!! It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only VERY slight corner wear (NOT through the colour), barely ANY creases AT ALL (cover is VERY flat looking indeed), VERY shiny laminate, and NO writing!!!! The opening edge is beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the laminated back is in STUNNING condition with NO writing, NO grubbyness, and NO yellowing!!!! The cover must grade Excellent++ if not better!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
